A New Hobby

This past week I decided to take a new hobby.....I taught myself to quilt. I found this idea for a rag quilt from one of my craft emails I get. I think it turned out great.

Our Weekend Get Away

Weekend of events

This past weekend (Feb. 9) Jason and I celebrated our 16th anniversary. We had a wonderful weekend together. On Friday to Saturday afternoon some college students took turns watching our kids so the two of us could get away without any children for a little while. What a blessing that was. We really enjoyed the time to ourselves.

On Saturday afternoon we picked-up the kids and spent a night at a motel with them. The kids had a blast. The motel was really nice. And didn't cost a lot either. I think our room was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. It was just beautiful...but I didn't get any pictures of our room. The pool area was really nice too!! They had a kiddy pool...with a frog slide....water glaciers...a sprinkling system...then there was the big pool that had a basketball hoop that Trent just loved. In the shallow end of the pool they had a whirlpool you could sit at and watch the kids playing...And be right there with them. They also had a separate whirlpool with hot water in it. This is where Jason and Samantha spent most of their time. Samantha loves the warm water.

I am so thankful for the wonderful husband that God has given me. He is such a wonderful loving husband and father. I am so thankful for the time he takes to spend with me and his children. He is such a Godly example to us. It is so hard to believe we have been married for 16 years already. It seems just like it was yesterday. Time flies when your married to your best friend and are enjoying your time together. I love you Jason....Thank you for choosing me.

My brave son.

Thanks to Carissa & Tricia I have been inspired to update my blog. Thanks!
Today my 4 year old Micah was a very brave boy. I was planning on getting his kindergarten shots but was not going to tell him about them ahead of time, but when we got to the Health Services office he asked me if he was going to get a shot....How he knew this was going to happen I do not know. (I had said nothing about it in front of him.) Maybe it was his brothers telling him he was going to have to have them for school trying to scare him in the past. Anyway I could not lie to him in the parking lot and told him that we were. He asked if he could take his stuffed kitty in with him and I let him thinking it would comfort him. He had other ideas....As the nurse was getting the shots ready....Micah told her that his Kitty was the one that needed to have them too. She proceeded to give Micah the shots but told him she would give Kitty his afterword. He asked her if they were going to hurt and she said just for a little bit. It would be kind of like a pinch. Micah was so brave he cried just a little when he seen the needle but really did not fight it to bad... The band-aid's at the end made the 3 shots all better. But he quickly reminded the nurse that Kitty still needed to have shots. So she played along and gave the Kitty a shot and even put a band-aid on it too!!! As we were walkind out the door Micah told her in a VERY quiet voice that it was already done hurting. What a brave little boy I have. I just hate when they have to go through things that hurt them. But aleast they are all done when for when he goes to 5k next fall.
